PACT INFORMATION AND REMINDERS

Participation in Palmetto Achievement Challenge Tests is mandatory for each student in our state and students are expected to be present for each test day. Scores are used by our school as part of the placement process for classes and to determine if a student needs an Academic Assistance Plan. Students should be at school each day and on time for homebase. Please avoid scheduling appointments or activities that would interfere with testing. Research has shown that students do not do as well when a test is taken during a make-up session. Below are the dates for testing:

ELA 1 - Tuesday, May 13
ELA 2 - Wednesday, May 14
Math - Thursday, May 15
Science for 7th and science or social studies for 6th & 8th - Tuesday, May 20
Social Studies for 7th grade - Wednesday, May 21
Field Testing - Thursday, May 22

Please talk with a guidance counselor if you have any questions or concerns.

Our school-wide theme is Get Real! Students will explore the excitement in the world around us. Author Sharon M. Draper visited on April 4.

Welcome to Aaron Riley Rucker Middle School. On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the start of the 2007-08 school year. A. R. Rucker is truly a wonderful learning community. Our dedicated teachers and staff work closely with our students in bringing a quality education to every student. With the implementation of the International Baccalaureate program our students consistently show improvement in all areas of academics while becoming involved in a variety of extra curricular activities. Our students are involved in excellent arts programs as well as after school sports. We are proud of our commitment to student achievement and look forward to future success.
